Mixed Team Match Reports

Bicester vs Amersham & Chalfont 30th November - CUP GAME

Bicester made a great start to their cup game with a convincing 3-2 win over Amersham and Chalfont which should have resulted in a bigger scoreline for the home team. Goals from Jonny Reid, Ella West and Sean Cox sealed off a convincing performance and has lead Bicester to a tough next round tie of Staines. MOTM Adam Drewitt

Oxford vs Bicester 23rd November

Deciding to bond as a mixed team on the Saturday evening took it's toll on the Sunday performance when Bicester faced Oxford. After a lively start from Bicester, Adam Drewitt made a rapid run across the D and put a reverse ball in which Meg Scott converted to give Bicester the lead. Waves of pressure in the first half didn't give Bicester the extended lead they deserved and Bicester went in 1-0 up at half-time. The hangovers began to tell in the second half and although Gina Girvan made some excellent runs and passes, Bicester failed to convert. In the second half a lack of marking at the back meant that Oxford equalised and although there was much effort from Luke Smith, Will Hartley and Sarah Husband going forward, Bicester didn't leave themselves enough time to restore their lead, leaving the game at one apiece. MOTM Gina Girvan

Aylesbury vs Bicester 16th November

Bicester finally did what they have struggled to do for the past two seasons and seal a victory against rivals Aylesbury. It was Bicester that started brightly with debutant Will Hartley scoring after less than a minute after some great work from Alison Haik in the D. After this though Bicester started to get sloppy and the work-rate slipped which allowed Aylesbury to capitalise and go in at the break 2-1 up. Following a right telling off at half time from Stewart Moore, Bicester's second half performance picked up with some excellent work in the middle from CJ Birtles, Lucy Birtles and Sean Cox. It was Cox that went past three and selflessly handed Alison Haik a tap in and shortly after with some great skill round the keeper CJ Birtles also found himself walking the ball into the goal. A switch around in formation meant any further Aylesbury attacks were defended with vigour and numbers with Stuart Goodacre marshalling the defence and Alison McGregor improving on her first half performance by tenfold (right back is the place for her and not left back!). Overall a gutsy performance with a team ethos meant that Bicester were the better side and deserved the win in the end. MOTM Will Hartley

Wallingford vs Bicester 26th October

Bicester started strongly with an early goal from a great run by David Delamore-Sutcliffe with a strong pass into Sheryl Philpott to shoot past the keeper. This was followed by a second goal well worked from the back to Philpott to score again. Cj Birtles scored the third from a great run taking it past three players to place the ball into the top corner of the goal. In the second half Wallingford came out strong but Bicester managed to score a fourth goal from Philpott once again, going one on one with the keeper and scoring. Wallingford came back at the end to score a single goal finishing the game at 4-1. MOTM Sheryl Webb

Bicester started off their season with a solid 7-1 win against Adastral at home made up of 5 goals from CJ Birtles and one apiece for Jon Roger and goal scoring extraordinaire Stewart Moore. MOTM CJ Birtles
