They compressed Bicester into their own 23m area providing a number of goal scoring chances but despite this Bicester worked hard to counter this with good passing and put Newbury under pressure. Bicester rarely managed a counterattack but when they did the quicker attackers from Bicester proved to be a nuisance although they failed to create a scoring opportunity The first half finished 0-0.

Bicester raised their game from their pushback at the start of the second half and they continued to frustrate Newbury by disrupting their flow. Newbury eventually broke the deadlock by scoring a good goal from a short corner after Bicester conceded a penalty corner for an intentional stick check in the 23m area. Bicester refused to give up and after Newbury went down to 10 players after receiving a yellow card for a second dangerous tackle Bicester levelled the score after a fluid passing move between Ashleigh Foote and Charlie Humphries enabling captain Charlotte Cochrane to roll the ball home from close range. Bicester fought for the final 10 minutes of the game to finish the game with a hard fought point. Sheryl Webb was a well deserved Man of the Match.
